When applying Raw Materials with Lot Tracking enabled, Dx5 uses a strict FIFO (First In, First Out) model. There is no option to select specific lots — lots are chosen automatically, oldest first.
To start a new batch & apply a recipe:
- Navigate to Operations Overview > Start New Batch and select your recipe
- There is no option to choose between specific lots — Dx5 selects automatically using FIFO
- If a Raw Material's needed quantity exceeds what's in the oldest lot, Dx5 dips into the next oldest lot to make up the difference
Note: Lot level accountability is available in the Batch History table — select Lot Details to view which lots were used.
Raw Materials can also be applied outside of a full recipe or formula, through individual material additions to a batch.
To apply a recipe, formula, or add a single material to an existing batch:
- Navigate to Batch Actions > Add Materials and select the material
- Enter a quantity — there is no lot selection here either
- Once added, Dx5 shows which lot(s) were pulled from
