Are you conducting Bottle Proof & Fill Tests and documenting results in DISTILL x 5 on all of your bottling runs?
When we hear feedback from clients that have recently undergone an audit by the TTB, we are most commonly told that their TTB Agent cited them for not complying with Fill Test requirements during their bottling runs (27 CFR § 19.356 - Alcohol Content and Fill). Luckily, you can easily perform Fill Tests in DISTILL x 5 and all of the results will be stored in your system for quick and easy recovery when your DSP needs to produce them for an audit. As a rule of thumb, you should be performing at least three (3) Bottle Proof & Fill Tests per bottling run, testing one bottle from the beginning, middle and end of each run. See more information in 27 CFR § 19.600 - Alcohol content and fill test record about this TTB-required documentation.
It is important to note that the TTB does allow for some small variances in actual fill volumes and bottled proof, but the thresholds are quite small. See excerpt below taken directly from the 27 CFR § 19.356 - Alcohol Content and Fill:
UPDATE 5/4/2020: The TTB has expanded the alcohol content tolerance to 0.3 percent alcohol by volume above or below the labeled alcohol content per Notice No. 176: Modernization of the Labeling and Advertising Regulations for Wine, Distilled Spirits, and Malt Beverages
