To ensure a smooth transition, we recommend taking a quick pulse check before getting started:
1. Have I joined a DISTILL x 5 Migration Demo?
DISTILL x 5 and Whiskey Systems are separate platforms designed to help you manage distillery operations efficiently and in full compliance. A Dx5 demo is the best way to see the system in action and understand differences in interface, workflows, and features.
Seeing the platform live allows you to ask questions specific to your operation and set clear expectations for your team. Skipping this step can sometimes lead to confusion or slow the transition process.
2. Am I currently training or onboarding new team members?
If you're onboarding new staff, this can actually be a great time to migrate. Starting directly in DISTILL x 5 allows new team members to learn the new system from day one without needing to relearn workflows later.
3. Is this a slower production season?
Migrating to a new system requires time and focus during the early learning phase. A slower production period can reduce operational disruption and provide more flexibility for training, data review, and troubleshooting.
4. What types of operations do I regularly enter?
Different transaction types—such as barrel movements, bottling runs, or transfers in bond—may follow slightly different workflows in DISTILL x 5. Understanding which transactions you use most frequently helps us tailor your migration setup and training to best support your operation.
5. Are the features I rely on available in DISTILL x 5?
Feature parity is another factor to review. Check the Functional Parity 2026 Roadmap to see which features from Whiskey Systems are still being developed in DISTILL x 5.
If you rely heavily on any of those features, it may make sense to wait. If you're unsure, schedule a demo session with a Migration Specialist to determine the best timing for your migration.
