Note: A Bonded Product in Dx5 will be required for any spirit/alcoholic liquid your distillery receives from a Supplier In-Bond. A video resource on the Add New Bonded Product process can be viewed here: Setup: Add New Bonded Product (Video).
Dx5 Batch Types establish the spirit's identity, along with appropriate Reporting Categories & Finished Product details for Bottling, whereas Dx5 Bonded Products simply associate that Batch Type with a specific Supplier. Users can also designate whether the Bonded Product was an Import here for Reporting purposes.
To build a new Bonded Product:
- Navigate to Operations > Setup
- Click Setup Actions > Add In-Bond Product
- Enter a Product Name (we typically recommend one which matches the Dx5 Batch Type for the spirit).
- Set an Alcohol Content and Unit for the Bonded Product
- Note: the Alcohol Content assigned to the Bonded Product is merely a placeholder which can be helpful if Alcohol is received consistently at the same Proof/ABV. It should always be revised during the Dx5 Receipt of Bonded Product in the event you've received liquid at a different proof. See this video for a how-to on Receiving Bonded Products in Dx5: Operations: Receive Spirit In-Bond (Video).

- If the product is Received from Customs Custody (or Imported), check the box to designate this product. This selection is optional; examples of Imported Spirit include Irish Whiskey (from Ireland), USVI Rum (from the Virgin Islands), etc.
- Enter a Product Name (we typically recommend one which matches the Dx5 Batch Type for the spirit).
- Link the new Bonded Product to at least one active Dx5 Batch Type for identification/reporting via the check-boxes next to your list of Available Batch Types.
- Note: A Dx5 Batch Type must be made for the liquid ahead of building the Bonded Product. A how-to on creating new Batch Types can be viewed here: Setup: Create a Batch Type (Read Time: 5 mins).
