The new "Duplicate Product" Tool streamlines the creation of new Finished Products by allowing users to duplicate an existing product while assigning a new proof. This eliminates the need to manually re-enter details for commonly repeated configurations and helps ensure consistency across related product entries.
With this tool, users can:
Duplicate an existing Finished Product in the system
Assign a new proof to the duplicated product
Retain all associated bottling supplies, such as Bottles, Closures, Labels, Cases
Retain all linked batch types, ensuring the new product remains connected to the appropriate production processes
The Finished Product Duplication Tool is especially helpful in scenarios where you're creating a variation of an existing product without starting from scratch. This would be especially useful when:
You're introducing a new proof of an existing product — for example, offering the same spirit at a higher or lower proof.
You're creating cask strength spirits that need to retain all the original packaging and batch associations, but differ in proof.
You're producing limited batches or cask series, where each release has a unique proof but uses the same bottling materials and production setup
To create a new Duplicate Product, users will navigate to Inventory > Overview > Finished Products:
- Here, users will identify the Finished Product they wish to Duplicate and, clicking on the dropdown menu next to the selected Finished Product, choose "Duplicate Product"
- The "New Item" form will generate with all existing details of the copied Product, including Supply & Batch Type Attachments
Users may now edit the Name, Proof, Size Information, Costing, Supply Attachments, Case Size, etc. as needed
- Once all information has been entered for the new Finished Product at a varying proof, users will choose "Create" to save this new product
